Elevator

The last clip is from the elevator I took on my way down parking garage. I wanted to capture the quiet mechanical noises that came from the elevator.

Chains and Steps

Next I ventured into a parking garage and climbed some loud metal steps. There was also a metal chain moving in this clip.

Urban Water

As I continued my walk I was repeatedly drawn to all the water that was running into the drains. I got tired of just hearing the rushing water from the street level so I put the microphones into the drain to see what would happen. Here are two examples of the different pitches of running water I encountered.

Sirens and Wind Chimes

I let my ears lead me for most of the walk, and they lead me to a sewer drain that was covered by snow, it reminded me of a cave over the drain. I put the microphones into the cave and got a muffled siren, with a subtle slow drip of water. Also in the middle of this track there is a loud creaking which I'm guessing was snow or ice falling or breaking of of the cave like snow structure. There are also some wind chimes throughout this clip.

Tin Cup and Foot Steps

Seeing as how i started out my sound walk at my work, Starbucks, I had to stop and get a drink, an iced grande Iced Coffee with soy and toffee nut syrup. At first carrying a drink and trying to record at the same time was probably not the brightest idea but since my cup was made of stainless steel the movement of the ice cubes against the cup made for some pretty interesting sounds. In the first half it is walking and ice hitting the cup but I'm walking to the lake so at the end all you hear
